What We Do

Lambda Numerics is developing software for high-speed, high-resolution calculations in contact mechanics and tribology. Based on the Boundary Element and MDR methods, it will allow detailed insight into stress and displacement distributions in complex contact configurations and arbitrary dynamic loading scenarios. It will help engineers answer difficult tribological questions involving:

• Macro- and microscopic roughness
• Elastic and viscoelastic media
• Layers, coatings and gradient media
• Adhesive interactions
• … and much more

We also consult on diverse topics related to tribology and contact mechanics, for example:

• Active control of friction
• Frictional effects in positioning systems
• Friction, damping and contact mechanics under dynamic loading
• Various issues of contact mechanics, friction and wear

Who We Are

Lambda Numerics is a young technology startup founded in 2024 by Dr.-Ing. Mikhail Popov. It leans on more than a decade of cutting-edge tribology research conducted at the Technical University of Berlin.

We are located in sunny Nicosia in the Republic of Cyprus.
